Electrically Operated Steps for Mercedes Sprinter,
Ford E Series and GM Savannah
AutoCool’s Heavy-Duty Telescopic Steps operate successfully in the most severe conditions, including unpaved and muddy roads, freezing temperatures, and salt-water environments. A metal cover and shields protect the step from mud, dirt, and physical damage, and the step is designed with water drain holes at the bottom. These steps are available for the Mercedes Sprinter, Ford E Series as well as the GM Savannah.
AutoCool Steps are designed for years of trouble-free operation. They are tested for more than a half million cycles, without any noticeable wear. This is far higher than the expected normal vehicle life load.
Materials and components used are of top quality: motors from Bosh and Siemens, Anti skid Polyurethane (step material) from BAYER. AutoCool steps are installed in vehicles operating in severe weather conditions, in areas such as Canada, Norway and Finland. They provide heavy-duty performance, extreme reliability, and maintenance-free operation.
Safety Features
- The step is activated by a high-quality door switch and the original door switch is not used.
- If the step is not completely retracted, a safety switch activates a warning light on the driver’s console.
- The step is composed of a heavy-duty non-skid Polyurethane manufactured by BAYER.
- The step has a high-visibility yellow strip to increase passenger awareness.
- If step motion is blocked by an obstruction, the electronic controller stops the motor.
- The system features overload protection.

The step is compatible with the following vehicles:

Step 1200 (48" width) and Step 1000 (36" width) are ideal for the Mercedes Sprinter side door with the Step 670 (26" width) being used for the cab doors. Step 1000 is best suited for the Ford Econoline Series and the GM Savannah / Express side doors.
